my current obsession: Elephant Stone

the band's style incorporates aspects of traditional Indian music including the sitar, tabla, and dilruba with Western psychedelic rock.

I recently posted their cover of The Doors' L.A. Woman - very psychedelic and fantastic. Love their sound. Give it a spin if you'd like.

But Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets, and Charlatans (UK) are the first that come to mind.

This was the best Stone Roses song that the Stone Roses didn't invent IMHO ...

Soup Dragons and Primal Scream are also fairly similar bands and of course Screamadelica by Primal Scream is an excellent record.

This whole album was also actually pretty good ...
