(3,064 posts)He was excellent as always. He did "Hey Joe" Hendrix style of course. He also played it in New Branfels in 2015.
I've seen him several times before and he'd never played it. Maybe it's now a part of his repertoire.
If he does or doesn't play it would you kindly add a post to this one telling me if he does. Just kinda curious.
His new CD "So You Wanna Be An Outlaw" is superb but you probably already know that.

(3,064 posts)It was back in 2004. It was at the Woodland Hills Zoo Ampitheatre and it was on a spectacularly beautiful summer day.
He had the Bluegrass Dukes with him, which was a real treat. Played about three hours.
I'm a really big fan of his. Living in Texas it's a real hoot being around people who hate his politics but grudgingly admit that they love his music.
Myself, I'm well in line with his political views.
Enjoy the show.

(5,678 posts)Hey
Steve did play Hey Joe!
Was a rockin good time!!!!!!!!!!!
He also played my fav - Copperhead Rd
The Mastersons also played a 1/2 hr long set. I enjoyed that duo. They played the whole set with the Dukes too. Not sure if they are part of the band and have a seperate career as well or if they just sit in when they are touring with him. Some mad guitar skills!
excellent show-excellent!

(3,064 posts)The Mastersons have been touring for awhile with Steve. They are an act themselves so they played a short solo set. But they play Steve's entire set, a real plus.
Chris Masterson is a hell of a guitar player and his wife, Elinor Whitmore, is a superb violinist.
I've seen him a number of times and he always puts on a hell of a show. Never phones it in.
No doubt a great time was had by all.
