With the help of heavy rotation on MTV and AM Pop stations - This song charted better than any other Kansas song before or since.
It peaked at #3 on the Billboard hot 100 in 1983

Everyone was chasing MTV screen time, and most folks misread how much that would hurt their legacy.
Sure, The Police, Dire Straits and REM made the transition, but they were younger and didn't have a decade or more of an established identity that made their video songs seem so out of character.

Not even close to my favorite song by them, but it was elevated by MTV too.

I didn't look up total sales, and I suspect by that yardstick it was the "Bigger Hit".
I was going for the most dramatic framing, and so I highlighted it as the highest charting single they had, although maybe not their best seller
