(5,312 posts)...in the section about Crosby Stills & Nash, "My Lady Of The Island" immediately came on Sirius/XM Deep Tracks.
And my personal "Laurel Canyon quasi-connection" is, I knew Dewey Martin, the drummer of Buffalo Springfield (and who drummed for a bunch of other bands/artists*) - in 1978 we were both in a band called "Scott Thomas Lowe & Atascadero," and I have owned his Camco drum kit (Oak Lawn IL badge), since 1978, after he quit the Atascadero band and he sold me his Camco kit, the same drums (kick and toms), used on the studio recording of "For What It's Worth" and the rest of the original studio stuff by Buffalo Springfield.
I've been using them ever since for my stuff, except when I'm using the Roland TD20-X electronic kit.
*Patsy Cline, The Standells, The Dillards, Roy Orbison, I forget the rest right now...
Here's an Atascadero Flyer from 1978 with me - 1st on the left and Dewey 6th from the left.
