I got to see him just as he hit number 1. Great songs, and a first-rate album from start to finish. These are two of the gems from his debut album:

(9,897 posts)1. I have some VERY fond memories attached to those songs!
1987-1988
Her name shall remain anonymous...but if I am still able to remember details through these songs so many years later, imagination must suffice for how special that was for me!
Wish me love a wishing well, to kiss and tell
A wishing well of butterfly tears
Wish me love a wishing well, to kiss and tell
A wishing well of crocodile cheers, sing

Time, I'm sure will bring
Disappointments in so many things
It seems to be the way
When your gambling cards on love you play
I'd rather be in hell
With you baby
Than in cool Heaven
It seems to be the way

Thank you for the trip down memory lane!

Maybe 1993 ... one of those two ... fantastic show.
If you've never heard that record, you should.
This is one of my fave songs from it ... 100% TTD (Prince-style, doing everything) ...
On the debut I also really love his cover of Who's Loving You that closes it out ... freaking awesome.
