Jesus Christ Superstar

‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ at 50: What Was the Buzz?
The rock opera, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, opened on Broadway on Oct. 12, 1971, to protests, an irate composer — and sold-out shows.

SO influential in SO many ways. So 'shocking' to think that it was 50 years today. WOW!

What fun for an orchestra and small ensemble geek to be sitting right with the electric guitars. It really made it a different kind of experience than the usual pit orchestras I was used to.

Being that involved in it gave me a better appreciation for it. I have done it twice now with probably a total of 4 rehearsals and 6 performances and love it.
