Music Appreciation
Related: About this forumAttention, Tom Conroy. Have I got a radio station for you. Actually, a lot of stations.
I was tipped off to Radio Garden last February by someone on Twitter who retweeted David Pogue's post. A DU'er posted about it back then too.
Wed Feb 10, 2021: Do y'all know about Radio Garden? Listen to local radio from all over the world!

Right now, I've got on WLVN 1940s Radio, in Livingston, Montana.
It is playing old Christmas music. I don't mean things from the 17th century, but post-war American Christmas music. Perry Como, Ray Conniff, et al.
They've got a website: https://www.1940sradiowlvn.com/
There's probably a playlist in there somewhere. Oh, boy, look at the schedule: https://www.1940sradiowlvn.com/radio-shows

(12,412 posts)They added a number of stations for me. Love roaming the radio world. Found a surf station in the mid east, beat poetry in northern India, and Blondie late night Siberia. Best thing is you can close app and it still plays without stopping saving battery.

(20,499 posts)an internet radio station from Amsterdam. I think it was manned by a bunch of junkies, judging by how often the song would end
dead air dead air dead air
then someone would call the station to wake the DJ up and he would apologize and put the next song on. It was rather hilarious.
One particularly memorable song was probably about 30 minutes long
deep electronic trance music with Bob Ross (the audio of one of his painting episodes) in the background. Very haunting.
not this, but similar:

(5,676 posts)That Asshole Van Morrisons 75th birthday. The Irish music magazine Hot Press sponsored and presented daily covers of TAVMs music, all sung by Irish musicians.
One of the Best (and most were excellent) was In The Days Before Rock N Roll. It was done by a bunch of well known old-timers and its just joyous.
Van called out lots of old radio stations that were identified by location. And theres a line that says we let the goldfish go! which some think referred to spinning the button on the old wireless to see where it would land.
