(49,060 posts)and I'd caught it while finishing some chores I should have done earlier. I was tired but decided to check YouTube on my TV to see if I could find a really good live performance to post along with the studio version this morning.
Then I found this video, and suddenly I wasn't at all tired any more. Think I went to bed about an hour later, after watching this several times, finding something new I really liked about it each time.
To me this is perfect, archetypal hard rock, in the same way that, say, Marshall Tucker's performance of "Can't You See" here

is perfect, archetypal Southern rock.
I can never get enough of classic rock this good.

How much I've been loving you,
Let the world outside pay its dues,
I'll never know why, no matter how high..."

(49,060 posts)They created so much good music over 60 years. It's a shame they had only two hits in the US.
And it's terrible that they had to finally break up because George Kooymans is ill, diagnosed with ALS about a year ago.
He was only 21 in the 1969 TV appearance above, but the band had already been together for 8 years (and after drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk joined in 1970, kept the same lineup till last year).

(4,597 posts)They were the "warm up" band for Foghat and Johnny Winters. All three bands were outrageously good. They don't have concerts like that anymore. If you know where they do, please let me know.
