KHJ had so many good disc jockeys in the '60s, but my favorite was The Real Don Steele. Here's a long aircheck with music. original commercials and The Real Don Steele.

(9,180 posts)1. Donald Steele Revert. His program director at KOIL
in Omaha gave him the name The Real Don Steele in about 1962. He used it for the rest of his life.
The first voice on the air check is Bill Drake. Drake consulted KHJ and most of the other RKO stations, and is responsible for the Drake format Boss Radio.

(9,180 posts)4. You're more than welcome. You might want to check out
reelradio.com if you like vintage Top 40 air checks. Lots more KHJ, and so many others from around the country. Most of them are scoped, but there are a number that arent.
