"Live And Let Die" was mentioned, and I didn't see any BBC video. Here's fan-recorded video, unfortunately wih some commentary. If I see better video later, I'll add it.

(15,617 posts)Ive seen McCartney probably a dozen times live, but stopped going to his concerts about 15 years ago when it became clear he was destroying his voice.
On many Beatle songs with harmonies, Paul now sings the lower Lennon part, and his drummer sings the McCartney part. When he did carpool karaoke several years ago, on Penny Lane, he sang a low harmony part while James Corden sang the McCartney part.
For me, his newer songs are painful to listen to.
When folks pay $500+ a ticket to see a living legend, it will be hard to get them to admit that legends voice is extremely subpar, even for an 80 year old.

Because you knew his fans would react?

Near constant touring for the past 30 years (in part to pay for his divorce settlement with Heather Mills, for which he had no pre-nup ) has reduced his once magnificent voice to two modes: a shaky croak or gravelly scream.
Perhaps because I am more than a casual fan, I am more sensitive to the deterioration of his voice, but the deterioration is audible, and cannot be denied, nor can it be blamed strictly on aging. Ringo, at 82, arguably has a stronger voice (albeit a more limited range) than Paul. Tony Bennett sings a different style of music completely, but had a strong voice well into his 90s. Colin Blunstone of the Zombies continues to sing like an angel well into his 70s.

(48,987 posts)guidelines pinned to the top of the board that, as host, I hope people will read and consider.
People have different taste in music. Even if they like an artist, they may disagree on what that artist has done that sounds best to them.
But this group should be a place where people are free to post about music they appreciate without making that music a target for critics.
This isn't Music Criticism, Music Debate, or Music Review (aka So Ya Wanna Be A Rock Journalist).
This is not the place for criticizing Paul's singing, let alone criticizing those who don't criticize it and suggesting they're less than rational, perhaps because of the ticket prices they paid.
No one here is forced to look at any video or enjoy any particular video.
You're always free to keep negative opinions to yourself.
There's been music here that I don't like, and that includes some that I REALLY don't like.
But no one needs to hear my critique. I'm not here to try to tell people what music is the best.
I like to see MAers appreciating music. It's great if people agree with them. But replies aren't necessary, either, and since many of us enjoy and agree with posts without ever bothering to reply to them or rec them, it' s safe to assume that all the music posted here is reaching some people who like it.
And that's a good thing.
That's a parade I do NOT want to rain on.
If you want to argue that Paul's music is disappointing now, and maybe he should retire, feel free to post a thread like that in the Lounge and argue away there.
You're violating the intent of this group, and the guidelines for it, with posts like that here.
