Just got turned onto him last week by a DU post and watched all his stuff, both as a duo with lots of sampling and as a band on youtube ... he's incredibly talented and gifted, obviously very well-trained and takes music very seriously. He's also a great songwriter.
I love the interlude at 3:30 ... so cool ...

Originality.
Even when I listen to traditional music (Blue Grass and Blues especially) I prize players and singers that have that something different.
