my mom's mom and my da's da came in the coffin ships. in the belly of a white star ocean liner.
this song is for them. it's a bit of a stretch of the timeline to jfk in the white house, but my mom shook his hand when his motorcade came down our street in my small town on a swing through illinois.
i know this music is supposed to be the old oldies. and i know most folks dont want to sing about the troubles. but much has happened in the last 100 yrs worth remembering.
