handling, working on People's Park, getting tear gassed . . .

Whenever any riot or disturbance would break out, a group of people would run down Telegraph Avenue and throw rocks through Bank of America's Telegraph Branch plate-glass window. If B of A didn't have a hand in whatever the cause du jour was, then they were guilty of something else and deserved it anyway. So B of A installed a roll-down metal shutter to protect their window. It became a race to see if the anti-Bank of America crowd could get there and do their dirty deeds before the B of A could get the shutter rolled down.
