Tiptoe Through the Tulips - by Tiny Tim and Nick Lucas (1944)

I haven't seen any documentation, but it would seem pretty obvious that Nick Lucas' version was the inspiration for Tiny Tim's version. I'm probably in the minority, but I think Tiny Tim was not just a comedy act but also a musical genius.

(1929 version by Nick Lucas, who apparently did the original version of the song which was later covered by Tiny Tim.)

(another early tune by Nick Lucas, Side By Side.)

of their original performers. I, too, think he was a musical genius and serious about the music he performed. His eccentric stage persona opened doors in the entertainment industry which made it possible for him to bring the music he loved to the world. I'd never heard anything by Nick Lucas until viewing the videos you posted. His singing and guitar accompaniment were quite good. Thanks.
