I tried a 1.4X tele-convertor but the image quality was garbage. I want a genuine long lens, like a 400mm or even 600mm. Something in that range. The lack of a decent long lens is my one and only gripe with the NEX system.

Then you won't be hemmed in by what Sony has or doesn't have.

I recently picked up a Panasonic GX1 and a c-mount to 4/3 adapter and a minolta mount to 4/3 adapter. And since my GX1 has a 2x sensor, if I throw a 300mm lens on it, I'm at 600mm.

Anyway, something to consider.

I also gave some thought to a telescope adapter and a spotting scope.
