(22,380 posts)I would have never seen what happens at this parade. Beautiful clear photos. What's your camera?
Number 6 if you don't mind my smiling, that's the biggest tree growing out of the man's head....

(14,040 posts)and these were shot with a 18-200 Nikkor lens. Though the first one may have been shot with a Panasonic Lumix GX1 (I carry both camera's with me when I go out to shoot).
I had a terrible spot on the parade route and we weren't allowed to step into the street. I really wanted to stand in the middle of the street and shoot but the cops wouldn't let me.
I actually left before the parade was finished because I got disgusted when they drove a SWAT tank (blaring Eye of the Tiger from its speakers), followed by their bomb truck, in the parade. That just didn't seem appropriate to me for a parade.

(22,380 posts)which I think is exceptional.
I SO understand about the SWAT tank. I grew up in post war Germany, with tanks of the occupiers all over my childhood landscape. To this day my arm hair stands up when I see a tank, and I get away as soon as possible.

(14,040 posts)I always shoot RAW and post-process in Lightroom. I tend to use the "clarity" feature quite liberally.
Celebration
(15,812 posts)I didn't celebrate the day, not even green beer, so this is it! Lots of fun, and very good photos..............
