I'm learning...

tried to catch some early morning sun to practice HDR... lots of mistakes and figuring to do... getting the shots and layering are easier than I thought it would be; good post processing is still eluding me... now I just have to find an appropriate subject for the contest...

in the meantime, I took lots of shots of my shoes this morning. I am an official tester for New Balance shoes and these just came in the mail yesterday...

is a great joy.
I'm tickled with your enthusiasm and with watching you work this novel thing of the HDR.
I LOVE the last shot, its spirit and humor. The first one, not so much, reminds me of Salieri saying about Mozart's work : "Too many notes".

I'm stealing the quote about making mistakes. It will go to my files and will be well used to excuse myself the next time I make some.

shots with both very bright and very dark locations. (think shooting into a cave with blue sky also in the shot)hdr would let you get detail in the cave without completley blowing out the sky

heres an example. its certainly not a good shot but it shows what mean

first the "proper" exposure

now the hdr version 3 exposures. normal -2 stops and +2 stops
