view from ridge of Jay Peak... wind so strong, couldn't stand straight... no more photos after this... all my strength needed to get to Rte 242... only 13+ miles today... pretty rough hiking

(60,071 posts)Even though they were thick and padded, they pumped air to the foot while walking. My Asolo are much lighter, but hot.
I never liked the heel counter on the New Balance. It didn't grip my heel properly. Good quality shoes, but they didn't suit my foot.
On second thought, and a google search, mine looked like the Montana. Nice big toe box and robust heel counter.
