Related: About this forumDid I read self portrait? Here's one though a little late for "purple". Spoiler: Bruise on my arm.
I took this photo with the camera built into my laptop. A week ago I braced myself with the arm where I broke the humerus 2 years ago, and have a new but EVER SO MUCH LESS BAD break.
Tonight I feel sorry for myself enough to show it to you.
I"m told I'll be quite OK in two months.
So, don't cry for me, Argentina. Just send healing light!

(20,886 posts)Try for the other arm next time. Just to even things up a bit. You have my utmost sympathy.

(22,380 posts)The other arm is the "right" one, and I need it badly since that's my dominant hand.
Instead I'll do less strenuous stuff, or ask for help.

would have won for the purple contest!
Is it going to require a cast or brace?
Ouch!
slings - keeping the arm immobile with scarves and bands.
A little time, and I'll be fine.

That was from just bracing yourself, not falling? That looks painful. I hope you heal fast and thoroughly. Hugs

That's a nasty looking bruise.
Hoping you feel better soon.

I stood on a stepstool of 12 " height to reach the lock on a window over my stove. The stool slipped on the floor, I was thrown against the window and a wide ledge that holds kitchen stuff. In the fall I braced myself against that ledge and heard a very quiet crack.

been there. But this is, as I said, way more innocuous than the last time. I think the arm is just weakened for the rest of this life time.

(42,770 posts)craziest physical injury was that they ever had.
Still remember....someone running around the corner only to plow into the TV antennae and it went up their nose. And, another, someone hanging a shower curtain and fell and their face landed in the kitty's litter box.
