Another surgery update

The doctor went back into my eye yesterday and moved the cornea back to where it belongs and at follow-up today, he said all looks good, so all I have to do now is just take it easy and let this thing heal up. It should take 4-6 weeks before my sight is completely restored. It's good enough to get me to Nome for the Iditarod, though, in about a month.

I probably won't be around here much, because I can't see very well, but I just wanted to let you know.

Thanks for all of your support.

And I know you're glad to be out of bed, too!

Take care, heal up well, and we'll be here when you get back...

It must be quite depressing, for that I'm sorry. But brighter days are ahead, and they'll be permanent.

I have often said, in my crazy nights and days of a busy life: I wish they would lock me up for a while so I can watch movies, read, and learn Flemish.
So there.
I hope you can make the best of the healing period.

Hoping this awful itching has abated by then. My eye constantly feels like it has three or four eyelashes in it and is very irritating. I guess it's all part of the healing process, but -- GAHHH -- I hate it.

This eye seems to be doing fine, although still a little itchy and not quite totally in focus. The doc said it would take four to six weeks for total recovery, so I think I'm on track. I see him again tomorrow for a progress check. I'll probably be getting the other eye done when we get back from Nome the end of March.

There are several versions of it on YouTube, but I don't think I've ever seen the sheet music. Hobo Jim is kind of a legend around here, kind of like Mr. Whitekeys.
