The results of the contest are in! Let's give each participant a big round of applause and congratulate the top three vote getters. It's been fun hosting. It's one of those things once you've done it you realize how easy it really is. Thank you CC for all the behind the scenes help.

(22,380 posts)the top 3 and all participants. Outstanding beauty in the winners. It makes me happy to have the contests and folks stepping up and showing their work.
Thanks Dyedinthewoolliberal for hosting the contest and even thinking it's easy.
I'm impressed.

(1,977 posts)I will make every effort to run the Winter contest just as well Dyedinthewoolliberal ran this one. I will probably need some HELP. This was a great contest - mth44sc and ohheckyeah really beautiful photos. Everybody who entered did a great job - now onto Winter.

(22,380 posts)we used to even have co-hosts for the Seasonals, where the hosts could enter, but had to back away and leave it to the other one should they be in "danger" of winning.
I think that's how I remember it.
Anyway, if you want and need to, call on me to help.
I'm around for the next couple of months.

(60,010 posts)Such gorgeous choices in the submissions.
A cheerful contrast to the drabness that is now outside my window.

(9,314 posts)from film. Unfortunately, when the contest started, fall was gone here so I couldn't get something new.
Johnny Noshoes
(1,977 posts)It may be "old school" but film still has that nice warm feel to it.
ohheckyeah
(9,314 posts)but I do miss black and white. I liked developing my own film and printing them in the dark room.
Johnny Noshoes
(1,977 posts)I remember the first time I saw a print come up in the developer it was cool. I ruined a few t shirts with dektol stains. I was never really good at making prints. I could do a straight print but never got the hang of dodging and burning. That's what I like about digital. It still is a matter of the photographer's skill and talent to get the image in camera but the software for digital darkroom work is great.
ohheckyeah
(9,314 posts)while I sometimes miss the darkroom, I don't miss hours of dodging and burning to get a photo the way I want it.

mth44sc
(2,435 posts)that i wanted to finish no better than 2nd. CC kept that bit of advise from me back in the day.
Congrats to Johnny NoShoes and ohheckyeah - those two are absolute beauties that way more carried the theme! And thanks to Dyedinthewoolliberal for taking care of business. Miss Sarah has already chosen which pic I should enter in the Winter contest. Oh my...

YW for what little help I gave but it was really all you Dyedinthewoolliberal. You did a great job and sorry to of just dropped the whole thing in your lap without warning. Lesson learned, chase down winners and remind them the true cost of greatness in our little corner of the web sooner rather than at the last minute.
