Went to a fracking protest in Sacramento today. (dial up warning)

And came home with some graffiti. this is more wall art than graffiti, but I thought it would do for the contest if nothing else turned up.

Then as we were leaving, we ran into this.

All this was on a wall at a public parking lot.

But wait, there's more. Another entire building, inside and out.

At which point, my battery that had clicked the shutter over 200 times at the protest, died. Fortunately, my friend lent me his camera to continue shooting, and get my entry for the contest among lots of other shots, which I will post later.

Interesting fact about graffiti in Sacramento: property owners are given five days to remove graffiti. I don't know the story of this graffiti, but I suspect they've gotten away with it by declaring it commissioned art. It was done by multiple artists and all of it was signed.

Stellar work by the piecers and great photos showing it off. Love the photo that also has the car in it, and also the first one with the face. Looks like Ronan Farrow to me, who looks like Frank Sinatra, but I ramble...

I still haven't been able to suss out the reason this grafitti is condoned in a city that gives property owners five days to clean up tagged walls.

some politics involved? I sure am glad they are called what they are, ART, and are signed.
