Missed Peak Bloom by a day or so, too hot for me to go yesterday, and out of town Friday, and windy today so even the trees that might have looked better today took a beating.

I lived in northern New Jersey, and on spring break we would take the "Silver Meteor" down to visit all my mom's relatives in North Carolina. Mom took some movies (pre-video) from the window--a bit smudgy and shaky. LOL. We always knew that if the timing was right, we would see the CHERRY BLOSSOMS! Then on to the scary Roanoke Rapids. Looking down from the bridge, I always thought that train might fall off and into the river.

That long silver train went all the way down to Miami.

IN DC 'til '06, and in suburban MD ever since. Took Metro Rail to get there today. Back to the cottage, a little further out, only about 60 miles, later in the week, to see how spring looks there.

Enjoyed House of Cards too!
