Related: About this forumAfter being lectured about getting back to my roots at the
Ft Worth Main ST Art Fair I headed out to the botanical gardens with the Infrared Nikon Coolpix. Overcast, cool and threatening rain but knew I had to get back on that horse. So here ya go:
Not too bad for the first time in a long time. Got some issues to work on to improve the vision (eyesight is fine since the surgery).

(2,016 posts)I really like IR photography. I haven't shot IR since, well, Kodak's IE B&W film was around. (Showing my age here.)
Nice to see digital IR photography, Flamin!
Keep it up!

(14,559 posts)Live view lets me see the final image and exposure is consistant and automatic. Back in the day ISO varied from film batch to batch and I had to make believe I knew what the image was going to look like. Shoot it by the pound and bracket two stops either side. Process and hope.
I may have to invest in a better camera for IR, the little Nikon is nice but pro gear has spoiled me.

(14,559 posts)The heavy overcast bleached out the sky but like I said, I needed to get back on that horse. Bee nice with some high wispy clouds.

(18,219 posts)I especially like the one with the wooden sidewalk/bridge/??? with ferns in the foreground and the tree growing over the boards. But all of these are great. I learn so much here....I had never heard of infrared photos. So much I don't know about photography.

(14,559 posts)This fellow converts 'class II' product to full spectrum. No IR filter, no UV and it still passes full visible spectrum. You just add filters to select what spectrum you want to 'see'.
Give me a couple of weeks and I'll let you know how well it works. The sample photos look pretty spectacular and we both know the quality that micro 4/3 can produce.
