Truly spectacular.

I think you will have a great time this season, taking pictures here.

Most of the rest of the furnishings represent years of different lookouts adding to the little 15X15 room. Stuff gets thrown out; stuff gets added. I bought a cheap microwave oven for the Oregon lookout, used it five seasons ($10/season), and left it. I bought a $69 microwave last week at Target for this Arizona lookout. It will remain here when I leave.
I also bought the cotton rugs and bedspread at World Market last week. The rugs will be throw-away filthy by the end of the season (costs more to have them washed at a laundry than they are worth). I'll leave the bedspread. I absolutely HAVE to have some color and decent decor, so I spend a little extra on that.
Where I usually spend the most to make my lookout comfortable is on kitchen utensils. You would not believe the crappy can openers, knives, wisks, and - fer godsake - CORKSCREWS I find. Got to have a good wine opener!

Looks like a great place to get away from it all and still get paid.

Just like Manhattan. Noise, noise, noise. But it does cover the sounds of the wilderness, thank goodness: the sounds of silence, as S&G so aptly described in the mid-1960s.

Seriously, I am in the wilderness (Pusch RidgeWilderness/Wilderness of Rocks). It is wonderful.

That is just awesome! And the bed looks pretty comfy too.

Do they let you have a dog up there?
