It just registered with me that I lost yesterday to sleep.
Got all cancer in cheek. Margins clear.
Waiting on neck biopsies.
Surgery was not as detailed as they first thought it would be.
No major grafting.
Only 1 day in ICU
I feel like warmed over poo.
Thank you for everything.
I am going in and out trying to type this. I will not tell you how long this took me to type.
..............................................
I'm a home.
Got everything in my cheek with clear margins.
Tumor was smaller than anticipated.
Will get the results for the neck biopsy next week.
No major skin grafting and no vein resection.
I was hitting the milestones early (swallowing, taking meds by mouth, tolerating food, using the bathroom) so they let me come home a day early.
My neck incision was already itching - a very good sign.
My neck looks like something from a horror movie though.
Like I went through barbed wired was how my brother-in-law described It.
Thank you for all your well wishes and good thoughts!!
Meant a lot to me!!!!
Go to doctor on Monday to get neck drain removed and mouth patch shaved.
My graft (pig graft - yucky) is protected by a patch that will be removed slowly.

I just needed to touch base and you guys mean a lot to me.

(90,766 posts)I get to go home tomorrow. My neck looks horrible. Looks like Zorro got hold of it. A Z
from chin to right ear. Still....I was lucky. So far much better than they feared.
I am sorry but I can't answer each message right now.
Doctors are happy with my recovery.
Still waiting for biopsies of neck tissue.
Still loopy.

(90,766 posts)I figured my age would count against me. And it has in many ways. I did get a couple of bird shots on tuesday before I checked
in to hospital.
Got some of my neck as well. Yucky.
Still waiting on neck biopsies. Wednesday of next week at earliest.
Hopefully, those are all clear.
Sorta on pain pills so sound silly.

Maybe you will have lots of time for awhile for taking some of those awesome lizard photos! But first, get some rest, and mend fast.
And, of course, we are all expecting further good news.

I have to do a course of radiation and though I'm not looking forward to it I know it's just another step in my recovery. One step at a time.
