Did you have the lens all the way out to 600mm?

Your photo is just gorgeous!

I really don't have any interest in entering contest. My focus is to take the photos and write with end goal of being published in a magazine and I actually have a "very small" article in the upcoming issue of a state wildlife magazine. LOL, you have to start somewhere and the editor likes my writing. The photos will accompany the articles. I have a friend who has made his living doing wildlife photography for 40 years and he said the only way to make any money is to write. As it turns out I enjoy the writing. Who knew?

Not only of your photography, but the magnificence of this wonderful bird.

It boggles my mind how they could swoop down and catch a fish!

I might have to get a 600 for fires\riots. I wish I were kidding, and far from in that particular order

great shots with it. Usually I hand hold it. I don't think you can beat it for the price but one caveat...I shoot a Nikon and every once in a while the auto focus doesn't work and I am not the only one. I just live with it and every so often I disconnect the lens, re-attach and all is well. I don't know if that is an issue with a Canon.

I am using Nikon glass and well. I like lit but the price point for at least a 400 lens is a tad rich for my blood

Do you mind saying from what part of the country this shot was taken? Both shots are incredible. Nice job!
