Your photo is just gorgeous!

(9,000 posts)Out to 600mm. I don't want to stress the birds though i am sure they are used to me by now.

(9,000 posts)I really don't have any interest in entering contest. My focus is to take the photos and write with end goal of being published in a magazine and I actually have a "very small" article in the upcoming issue of a state wildlife magazine. LOL, you have to start somewhere and the editor likes my writing. The photos will accompany the articles. I have a friend who has made his living doing wildlife photography for 40 years and he said the only way to make any money is to write. As it turns out I enjoy the writing. Who knew?

(35,662 posts)Not only of your photography, but the magnificence of this wonderful bird.
It boggles my mind how they could swoop down and catch a fish!

(9,000 posts)great shots with it. Usually I hand hold it. I don't think you can beat it for the price but one caveat...I shoot a Nikon and every once in a while the auto focus doesn't work and I am not the only one. I just live with it and every so often I disconnect the lens, re-attach and all is well. I don't know if that is an issue with a Canon.

(154,021 posts)I am using Nikon glass and well. I like lit but the price point for at least a 400 lens is a tad rich for my blood
