50mm. First time I've purchased anything other than DX lenses. I set the camera on monochrome, and I'll see what I come up with over the next few days.

Any critiques from you would be very much appreciated.

I think it was the realization that adjusting different color levels on an image already converted to monochrome is possible. That wasn't possible with my last editor.

(whether Kodachrome or monochrome) is the key. Have you ever taken a class in color theory? You might not need it, but it taught me a lot.

In your photo it's not just the colors though, it's the depth of field too.

I sacrificed sharpness for DOF by using a zoom lens. That allows me to stand off from my subject. That also deepens the DOF.

These are some of the (your) most beautiful creations ever. All four of them. But the two rose shots are maybe the most stirringly glorious I have seen in years.
