Eastern Washington

taking a break from work (traveling these beautiful dusty roads -about 300 square miles today)... much drudgery but many joys that I don't have the presence of mind (or slight of hand) to shoot... scared up a big hawk that had a very long snake in his clutches... a pheasant, a dreamy eyed doe, dust devils, etc...

I've always enjoyed the drive up the Columbia river, through Pasco and on up to Spokane.

I've been arguing with myself whether it would be better without the figure. I've decided that it works well both ways, but maybe I like it a half point better with the figure.

This is really a great shot in its simplicity.
