(149,611 posts)Just walking around, or driving, and stopping whenever you felt like it...
I know I get like a little kid, thinking about all the exciting sights I'm seeing.
Here's one........and another.........and another!
So much to see. And appreciate.
Thank you!

(19,459 posts)Spent 5 days of a 14-day road trip on the BRP and Skyline Drive back in 2012. What a great time. Nice surprise to be taken back there.

(60,010 posts)Fall is so gorgeous in the South, warm and sunny and colorful.
And very interesting local color, too, I see.

(7,347 posts)I thoroughly enjoyed your travelogue...the Rebel Pig and the Dry Goods Store just crack me up! The rattlesnake/confederate combo flag is a new one to me...but it seems so apropos as in "we are full of poison"...

(22,756 posts)good photos are emotions, memories, nostalgia and dreams... I have always enjoyed my time in your "neck of the woods"
I'm in Texas right now and haven't found a whole lot to photograph here... (sure, there are things, I'm just not inspired)
Mira
(22,380 posts)but I'd think twice about making that happen in Texas. I know the Fort Worth area a bit, and that's about it. Honestly, I think Texas, and I think about *W and the ranch, and then I lose my appetite.
Enjoy it anyway - and look forward to your next destination...

(31,386 posts)It's like going back in time 60 or 70 or more years, though, isn't it?
Mira
(22,380 posts)and I'm not one to scare easily, and usually ask forgiveness rather than permission. I did not feel very comfortable taking these flag shots.
Which brings to mind another time, a young woman walking towards me on Royal St in NOLA with only shorts on her bottom and two pasty stars on her nipples.
I said: "I ought to be free to take your photo, after all, it's you who's dressing like this in public!"
I got some nice shots, and felt a lot more welcome to do it.
