(86,725 posts)portions of the Portneuf River north and south of Pocatello, it was reduced to a concrete ditch through town in the 1960s. But elsewhere there are sections that look a lot like your image. I used to go hiking in some of those places.

(86,725 posts)I always had wooded places to go when I was young and living mostly east of the Rockies. There are some very nice wooded area in the west too, I've learned and I particularly like those river's edge groves of willow and cottonwood.

(149,669 posts)Mine's kind of unusual, but it was taken in the winter, up near San Simeon.

Welcome!
I always mean to do this, but forget. Good to see all these great shots from all over!

thanks, I took a ton of pix that day - good thing because the el nino predictions were a huge fail in February. We may get some kind of precip tonight and tomorrow, knock on wood.
read in the paper the Iditarod had to make some adjustments including hauling snow into Anchorage. man!

(8,039 posts)and now to mess with you Blue. Did you really mean to keep photo size at 800 pixels instead of the new 1024 pixels on the longest size? I can reduce mine if you meant to keep it smaller and now that I have a working mouse again.
