From the ground to almost half way up a 9 story outlook in the Blue Ridge Mountains

This was where I parked the car

And this was exactly across the street

And these guys saw me off to the climb

The outlook has 9 floors, I only had the courage to climb up 4
- heights and stairs without backs do not please me -

A couple of what is left of the glory of our mountains in the fall

I was there a couple of weeks ago, but don't think I caught any great color (Will check.) No such outlook!

but it's the mountain road from Cherokee to Maggie Valley. Curvy and very scenic. Beats the Highway vistas by far.

It's an adjunct to a small store at the side of the road that sells trinkets. It costs 50 cents you can climb the tower.

We cross the Appalachians every October and are always looking for diversionary routes.

this weekend... my daughter wants to go through Boone so if you are around?? I will keep you up to speed as I know more details

Cherokee today and Bryson City tomorrow and then our work will be done here in NC... and on my birthday last Friday I met with owner of building to write up lease for my new venture... I will be 'retiring' (no more traveling) in a few months and opening up small diner/coffee shop just a mile from my home

that's huge news, and not only do I wish you the absolute best for the new venture, I also want to congratulate you on getting to settle in and stay home instead of all the travel.
Just this morning I left Cherokee, and yesterday I was in Bryson City and Sylva. I would have found you had I known. I would have recognized you by your face, you are one of the two DUers I have met in person
Keep me informed.
And congratulations on your courage.
