the exact same moon today around 4:00 pm when driving in my car, except it was in a bright blue sky!

That's really some marvelous contrast you've captured there, CaliforniaPeggy! Was this taken around dusk?

It was nearly 5 pm here, CA time. The sun had just set. The sky was still blue, but dusky. I just loved how the moon looked, and it was perfectly positioned for a good shot.

Plus, it wasn't quite time for me to start dinner! I seized the moment.

It does rather look like that.

It wasn't very high so it was easy to spot through my camera.

That's quite the compliment, coming from a photographer of your caliber. I really appreciate it.

And it's a good thing that I'm not posting the solstice moon photo I took a couple of hours ago! It seemed a little fuzzy and that made it unacceptable for posting.
