My brother-in-law got me an inexpensive, basic drone with camera for Christmas. All I've done so far is chase the dogs around with it.

The photos you've posted in the group have piqued my interest in this form of photography.

We're heading up the eastern side of the Sierras up to the Lassen area then up to Ashland and Bend in late April. Might make it to Idaho.
I hope to get some good shots with this one.

We like that drive. The Honey Lake and Susanville areas have some interesting views, as does just about all of that trip. Will you go through Mammoth?

Love the Ashland area! My in-laws have a place on 199, outside of Grants Pass. Beautiful country.

One of the roads up to Sun Valley, Idaho goes through some interesting lava flows, and the Snake River Gorge. I imagine you've been to most (if not all) of these places.

Looking forward to your photos.

This was a DNG (raw) pic I ran thru Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and made the colors "pop" a little.

My drone isn't anywhere near as nice as the one you have. I'll be interested to see how the camera performs.

May I ask if you're closer to San Diego or the central coast? One of my daughters lives in San Diego, and the other lives in Redlands.

I really love it down there. When we visit the San Diego daughter I usually drive out to the Anza-Borrego, or the Salton Sea, or up toward Julian to take photos. Glamis is cool as well.

My wife retires in October, so we'll be moving down that way sometime next year. First trip we take will be a road trip through the Northeast.

Here are a couple I took on a drive out to the Salton Sea:

Enjoy your trip. Hope it's great!
