Related: About this forumThe photo I'm posting is the basis for a poem that was published today!
mnhtnbb suggested I post the poem to demonstrate the power of photographs.

Seeing
from beyond this world I see
you seeing
me
you gaze from behind glossy shades
I see my reflection as I
stand before you
holding my camera
snapping your photo
but you have walked beyond
where I still exist
my heart holds the photo close
you walk in my dreams
the dividing line between this world
and the next
blurs
and you are here with me
once again
forever

(31,389 posts)I truly love photographs that create an emotional response. Photography is an art. It's not just capturing a moment in time, but it has the capacity to carry that moment beyond and through time. And with it, the emotions of the moment. Photographs can be very powerful. Your poem-- together with the image-- really conveys that power.
Congratulations on having the poem published!

He died almost 5 years ago.
