Tonight that lesson really hit home. This was happening at the same time.
I was walking away from the sunset waiting for the sun to go down because it was really bright tonight. The moon was not up. As the sun set behind the pier, I started snapping shots. When the sun was down, I turned around and my jaw dropped! The moon was up, big and bright yellow in the middle of the Belt of Venus. I had to walk/run through the surf line to get past several people standing at the water's edge that were smack in the middle of my shots. My pants were wet up to my knees! The water is still pretty warm this time of year.

Esp. the last three, with the moon in all her glory!
Moonrise in the belt of Venus needs to be printed, framed and up on your walls!

I was gobsmacked by the sight of this moon and just hoping I could get one shot. All hand held, of course. Plus a lot of moisture in the beach air. I was literally muttering under my breath for people to get out of my shot! Don't just stand there! But, of course they were all in awe, too.
I'm a happy photographer tonight!
