Lake Louise was still frozen in early summer, & it was COLD.

Still one of the most beautiful places we've been.

Love, love, love Canada.

Can't wait to go back.

PS. Love the Canadian people also.

I don't recall the exact year, but I remember going to Glacier National Park in Montana..(far northern
part...) ..I was totally amazed at the beauty of Glacier, and commented to someone about that beauty.
Whoever it was, said basically the following..."You ain't seen anything till you get to Banff and Jasper
National Parks in Canada..(I said to myself, these people are nuts, nothing can be as beautiful as
Glacier Park......

Well.......I was totally wrong....TOTALLY WRONG...IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN TO BANFF AND JASPER
................IN CANADA...YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING..NOTHING AT ALL..

...................................POST 8...ABOVE....EIGHT...LOOK AT THAT PICTURE...

..................YES....I GOT THAT PICTURE.....NOW THERE IS A 140 MILE ROAD THROUGH THE PARK FROM
..................LAKE LOUISE UP TO JASPER AND LAKE MALIGN..(I CAN'T SPELL).....ALL ALONG THE ROAD
ARE INCREDIBLE BEAUTIFUL... VIEWS OF THE MOUNTAINS ON EACH SIDE OF THE ROAD...

....IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS PLACE..YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING...!!!!!!....I think that road through
Banff and Jasper was built for the views mountains on each side...INCREDIBLE BEAUTY BEYOND WORDS

I haven't been to the Alps in Switzerland, but I have been to the mountain in Japan, (forgot name)...but

NOTHING COMPARES WITH BANFF AND JASPER IN CANADA.....NOTHING AT ALL...NOTHING

........................and if you don't believe me............Then go there & decide for yourself.......

Oh ...yes, I have been to Yellowstone, Arches, Grand Canyon, etc....Only the Grand Canyon compares in beauty.....and that is a totally different kind of beauty.....as is Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico...

Rustic. No phone or tv. We didn’t even have cell phones 25 years ago. It was the BEST trip...and not so far for us being in western MT. We were so poor...we took most of our own food and ate out of our cooler. I wouldn’t change a thing. I remember seeing Harlequin ducks on the lake, two moose and a handful of grizzly bears on our hikes. The view is more beautiful than the photos if you can believe it.

about 350 miles northwest of Glacier National Park in Montana......
Yes...Now I think you will need a passport...don't know for sure

When I went in 70s and 90s, You did not need a pass port..I think you do now...but.....
...YES IT IS WORTH IT TO GO..THOSE VIEWS ARE REAL...AND INCREDIBLE...

another short story.....I was camping in Jasper..in an area with tents and RVs parked...

Very early in the morning, I heard a dog barking very loud..& it woke me up..(5 am or 5:30am)...so I went to the
RV where the dog was from and asked the owner about the barking ...(actually a complaint about the
barking)......................................................................

....and the owner said this....."There was probably a bear in the area, that is what the dog was barking at"

As the melt-water from a glacier starts to flow in the Springtime, it carries with it glacier silt or "rock flour." The rock flour is very light and stays suspended in the lake water for a long time. The sunlight that reflects off these particles is what gives the lakes their spectacular turquoise blue or green colour. (BanffandBeyond.com)
