Notes on Photo Industry developments.

Nikon has closed two Japanese manufacturing facilities as a cost cutting measure BUT there is good news in the latest financial statement PLUS 2021 is looking up for the business as a whole. The outlook of vaccines getting people out taking pictures means an uptick in camera sales!

JIP has launched an on-line magazine:

I'm not impressed in the way it presents on-screen but maybe I'm doing something wrong. One neat new thing is 'printing' articles in the language of the author (as well as English).

There's also an interview with JIP's top Tech Officer. He promises new product that will 'WOW' us, no details.

The Alice Camera is now available for pre-order on Indegogo. Warning! Indegogo is poorly policed and is a host to many scams (I know! Don't ask . . .)

Panasonic financial statements look good for the company but no imaging specific news. There is a promise (not confirmed) of a GX10 coming in '21.

That's the high spots I know about. Have more news? Let's hear it!
