otherwise I can see the resemblance, especially the way the nose looks pink and flat, but I think that is just the lighting and angle

Much larger than a wild boar, but it is hard to tell by this photo. If I had captioned it "Small Stream," which it really is, instead of ".. River," the perspective might have changed in your mind. Also, I went to lengths to "flatten" the photo and subdue the colors to make it fit the mood of the place.

Also, had they been wild boars I would have been much farther away .. or gone!
