I'm glad you were most likely far away from them--they are dangerous, smart and fast.

those are bison. even bigger and scarier.

4. Maybe Bo can confirm their identity! I looked at them very carefully!

5. the horns on the sides of their heads is the main clue

otherwise I can see the resemblance, especially the way the nose looks pink and flat, but I think that is just the lighting and angle

7. Bison (Buffalo) ..

Much larger than a wild boar, but it is hard to tell by this photo. If I had captioned it "Small Stream," which it really is, instead of ".. River," the perspective might have changed in your mind. Also, I went to lengths to "flatten" the photo and subdue the colors to make it fit the mood of the place.

Also, had they been wild boars I would have been much farther away .. or gone!
