I looked out my window and saw this beauty about a block away. Everything else gets put on hold when an Osprey comes to visit. I'll try to post some more pics tonight.

(24,653 posts)I have tried for years to get good photographs of the ospreys near me with nothing to show for it. This is amazing!

Love the detail, the colors, the shapes, everything.
I especially love the look on the bird's face! It's fierce and very good.

I'm late on 'puter today (Full Moon, y'a know, LUNACY???) and SO pleased to see this, Guy!
Where you at? Warm and sunny here today, Capital Weather Gang calls it a 10/10 day, and I have to agree; 72 and sunny, @ 5 p.m.

(3,162 posts)Yes, we do have creeks in L.A. 😆😉
I've seen this critter in the neighborhood before. He will sometimes hang out on top of this tall pine tree. Eventually the crows chase him away.
Funny story... I had just stepped out of the shower when I spotted him on the next street over. I got dressed in thirty seconds and grabbed the camera that I leave set up for birds. This time it all worked out.
I'll try to post some more tonight.

(16,389 posts)I assume this is a male because he doesn't have much brown on his chest. (The girls usually have a dark "necklace" of brown.)

Your equipment is worth it for this kind of color & acuity!
