I wish I could remember the name. Our gardener told us about it and we were glad to give this one and another one just like it on the other side of our driveway a home.
The leaves are actually quite stiff and there are tiny spines on the edges, so being careful around it is a good idea!
I love the way the sun filters through it.

My husband remembered the name: Encepholartos.
We were very happy to help this threatened plant survive.
We have two of them and they love growing in our climate.
