(HD video link below, best with sound on - IMO)My wife & I just got back from a cross-Canada train odyssey from Toronto to Vancouver & return this March of 2022.
It was our first trip since the covid pandemic began in 2020!
This trip was a celebration of sorts for my 50th birthday, as well as my eligibility for retirement and our wedding anniversary.
For this trip, I elected to depart with my previously-held tradition of still photography, and instead decided to record a detailed video documentary of our train odyssey which I am still working on - and will post here when it is done, as well as on my website.
In the meantime here is a short (10 minute) preview of that upcoming documentary.
So for those interested - hop aboard for a preview of our scenic land cruise across Canada aboard "The Canadian" - VIA Rail's Transcontinental passenger train - which runs both ways across the country from Vancouver to Toronto.
Watch this space for the full-length video coming soon, or see it on my website at https://northamericabyrail.info/
Hope you enjoy!

(25,366 posts)Many years ago, had a segment on the cruise on rails from Nova Scotia to British Columbia in about 7 days. I was ready to go! One of these days, I will. Thanks for sharing your trip..

(156,024 posts)It's a wonderful documentary with an incredibly beautiful soundtrack!
I can remember seeing mountains up close like these, and how small I felt being there.
I look forward to seeing the whole video once you're done polishing it.
And thank you for this amazing preview.

(2,071 posts)No picture can do justice to seeing the real thing in person, but I hoped my footage would at least convey a sense of the scale of the Canadian Rockies.
I will definitely post the full version here when I am done.
Thanks again & Best Regards!
