Remember Me

Has anyone seen this series yet? Just saw episode one on our local PBS station Sunday night. It was made in 2014, by BBC and is apparently a 3 part mini series. Stars Michael Palin in a straight role, no comedy.

Wow, I thought I'd give it a watch because I'm a Palin fan. Sounded pretty ordinary--older man contrives to get himself moved from his home to an assisted living place. Holy crap, it definitely didn't go where I expected. I won't give any spoilers but I had several serious goose bump moments in just the hour! I don't know if it will drop the ball by the end, but so far it is really creepy!! Reminds me of the original version of The Woman in Black, which I love.

I started watching and got interested so I decided to record it to watch when I had time. Then it got too creepy for me and I felt like I couldn't understand what was happening. So I erased it.

for the part I missed, but I'll watch it again on the Roku before part 2 airs. I agree, it wasn't anything like I expected, but, man, it was good!

So far I like it but it was scary. Had I known it was scary I would not have watched but was hooked by the time the weird part started. If I was the young woman I would have thrown that suitcase out the window the first time it showed up where it shouldn't have - but nooo - she takes it to the man's house!!

There are so many great series airing on PBS right now: Grantchester, My Mother and Other Strangers, The Tunnel, and Prime Suspect (just wound up)! Also the re-air of The Durrells in Corfu. An abundance of riches!!!

I really loved Prime Suspect -Tennison. I never watched the original with Helen Mirren. Have to get it from Netflix!

I can't believe they will wrap up the story in just two more hours. But I guess it's better to do it well and finish, and not stretch out the story until it's unwatchable. It's a welcome and scary surprise find for me.

Yes, there are some gems on PBS now. I did watch Prime Suspect back when it was first on, so want to go back and watch again. I remember Helen Mirren's Jane as being really hardened and basically a wreck as a person. I understand how she could become that way being in her job, but I look forward to seeing a link between 'Tennison' and 'Prime Suspect'. I appreciate that both are written by Lynda La Plante, the original author of the books, so the series should stay true to the character.

Also, Endeavor (Morse) is coming with new episodes in the fall!
