Finishing up Season 2 of an Australian show, Wanted. The premise is two women who get caught up in drug deal involving bent cops. One of the two women is now one of my absolute favorite actresses, Geraldine Hakewill. She's an absolute riot. It's a bit Thelma and Louise. These two women just can't catch a break. At times it's funny, at other times it's horrible - violence, murders. It takes a few episodes to get going, but it's well worth it. On Netflix.
Also finishing up Season 2 of The Crown, also on Netflix. I have no idea how accurate the portrayals are, but Claire Foy is superb as Queen Elizabeth and Matt Smith from Doctor Who is equally superb as Prince Phillip. I can't imagine that the real Queen would be pleased with how everyone is portrayed.
Also at the last episode of season 2 of Stranger Things. A disappointing second season. One of the most appealing parts of season 1 was the interaction between the four boys and Eleven. This season doesn't bring them all together until the last episode. That said, Eleven's entry at the end of the penultimate episode was great. I know things can go any which way for child actors, but if she Millie Bobby Brown stays on track, she's going to be a star. Netflix
Taking a break from season 4 of Below Deck. I swear, I think the casting call for yachties for the show called for dysfunctional being at the top of their character traits required. When it got too stupid toward the end of season 4, I decided to take a break. For those familiar with the show, the description "too stupid" can be applied to parts of any episode. Amazon.
I'm somewhere in the middle of season 3, I think, of Poldark. A fantastic period piece. Put Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson in anything, and I'll watch it. PBS
Acceptable Risk, British thriller-ish series. Multinational evil pharmaceutical company, corrupt city officials, spies. Something for everyone. The wife of the dead guy is the lead, and she's a bit irritating. I told my wife that if I died under mysterious circumstances, to please not behave the same way.
And, finally, for the moment, Doctor Who (Amazon). With Peter Capaldi. After several seasons with the frenetic Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi is downright boring. I'm actually skipping episodes. BTW, his and Matt Smith's traveling companion is Jenna Coleman, who's on that list of my faves with Geraldine Hakewill. She (Coleman) was fantastic in Season 1 of Victoria.
