This last Monday's show was the worst. They really took the show down the toilet. Kutcher's character as well as his girlfriend are stupid and one dimensional characters. They really steered the show in the wrong direction and they are resorting to potty humor and vomiting to try to make it work. It doesn't. They would have been better off not bringing in a new character. They should have just let Allen and Jake carry the show with the help of the Mother, Rose, Jake's Mother (Allen's wife) and her husband and Berta. I think they could have continued the story line on without having to bring in what they thought was a Charlie replacement. Sheen might have had a lot of problems in his life - but he was a good actor and really gave us a multidimensional character in his TV Charlie. John Cryer is genuinely funny and I think the writers could have come up with a lot of material based on his peculiarities.
I'm afraid the writers are stuck now and they have run out of ideas for this new direction of the show. It's too bad. Maybe if they brought some of the old characters back as I mentioned above they can recover - but I doubt it. I think they've jumped the shark.

(4,851 posts)the show lacks something now. I think it was the way Sheen just made me want to both love and hate his character, which let the writers both make him look bad and good at the same time.

Honestly... They have a treasure trove of talent left in Berta's character, Allen's mother's character, and John Cryer. Yet, this is what they do with the show? I hate to say it, but Charlie Sheen was probably right in trashing the show. The entire premise of the show with Kutcher's character as this child-like billionaire is jsut ridiculous and I'll be damned if I get what some see in him to begin with.
Jumped the shark? Indeed.
