Netflix with ads??? Yup, it's coming......

You'll soon be able to sign up for a cheaper version of Netflix with ads — though that option is still in its "early days."

Netflix will partner with Microsoft on this new ad-supported subscription plan, the two companies announced Wednesday.
The partnership follows the surprising announcement in April that Netflix (NFLX) would be open to adding a lower priced ad-supported tier to its service — something its CEO Reed Hastings resisted for years. But the company is going through one of the roughest periods in its 25-year history, after losing subscribers in the first quarter for the first time in more than a decade.
The timing of the ad tier's launch has not been formally announced, but the New York Times reported in May that Netflix told employees it may come by the end of 2022.

Shareholders will demand it. And just because there are ad options doesn't mean commercial-pricing will remain the same. Nope. That will eventually increase too. Because ... shareholders will demand it.

That's what cable TV started off as in the 70s. "No advertisements" they said. That lasted about a year, then ads galore.

As soon as any advertisements come on my TV now the "MUTE" button gets pressed, so I guess I still do enjoy "ad free" TV.

for a while and go elsewhere. Ads will just be another reason to not go back.
