Jimmy Smits returning to "Sons of Anarchy"

Earlier this week, it was announced two stars are heading back to FX's Sons of Anarchy next season after turning in two memorable performances and creator Kurt Sutter is working on a new show for the network.

According to Deadline, Jimmy Smits will reprise his role as Neron "Nero" Padilla, a former gangbanger who gets pulled back into the life thanks to his partnership with main character Jax (Charlie Hunnam). In a separate report, Donal Logue will return as former U.S. Marshall Lee Toric.

There was some doubt as to whether or not he would return. I'm so glad they were able to work something out. The Nero character was absolutely compelling last season.

1. I really hope this upcoming season is better...

this last season was the worst of the bunch, I thought it couldn't get any worse than their Ireland arc, but last season was so aimless, and most of the time, worthless.

I hope the new season can salvage this show. I really like this show, it had great promise, but damn...after last season I actually didn't even look forward to watching it, I use to treat it like Xmas eve, all excited, got popcorn on and all that jazz. Damn I cannot express how horrible last season was.

3. It's true, last season was not their best but...

They did finally allow Kim Coates to have a really meaty story line and I think he really knocked it out of the park. The season was worth watching for his story line alone.

4. I agree about Tigs story arc, my main dissapointment was

the death of ....spoiler.




































Opie, it seemed so mindless and about worthless to kill off Opie. I know his death pushed Jax to be more mean/killer like but he was all ready in that mindset anyways. I will miss Opie, his death seemed so pointless.

2. Smits was great in The West Wing

He also played the bad guy in one of my favorite movies, Running Scared.

5. Glad to see him return as well...Last season was uneven, for sure, but Smits was great...

I'm not really liking the tara storyline...but...
