LOVE IT. so far I mean..... it's snappy, and he's in his element, but not to much, kinda like Good Morning Vietnam.....silly and playing to his strengths, but fits in to a comedy....love it. Anyone else??

(20,805 posts)....left me feeling a little 'meh' to be honest...Seems as though he was re-hashing parts of the movie 'RV', which actually had it's funny moments, but it seemed a little forced...I think, given time it could be really good, the scene when he, Travis (I think that was the character's name?) were riffing in the restaurant trying to get Kelly Clarkson to sign up was hysterical, but some of the other banter didn't quite have that same spark..
I have it set to record in the DVR and will see how it goes...

(22,000 posts)Funny as hell. I hope the show survives. The networks are so eager to cancel shows these days.

(103,856 posts)embarrassed for him.. I wish he had been able to switch to drama as he aged..Comedians have their halcyon years, and most of them keep trying and trying their old schtick with "new crowds".. It rarely works..
Too many comedians blow through the big money they make when they are at the top, and then spend their later years embarrassing themselves and tarnishing their reputations.
The smart ones know when to quit and try a new thing..

(20,220 posts)He said he was broke because of his divorces. He didn't mention his first divorce was because he knocked up his son's nanny and his second divorce was because of his drinking problem.

(22,000 posts)The best part was the burning cardigan in the waste basket and the fireman asking him about his hard-on.

(20,805 posts)..the rest of the show just doesn't seem to 'click' somehow...maybe because everyone is forcing the funny instead of letting it happen naturally...

(22,000 posts)Only Robin Williams can deliver this diatribe with a straight face:
(In a French accent) You know in Europe sex is a good thing, you know? Fraternite, egalite, sexualite, ah?
(In a macho Texas accent) But this is American we like our sex shameful like God intended it to be. That's why Mormons make love staying up because the big guy thinks they're dancing.
