American Horror Story update...season 2***SPOILERS FROM SEASON 1*****

As for American Horror Story, which will start from scratch next season with a new cast and story, Landgraf said viewers may still see some familiar faces. Series executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are in conversations with two or three of the actors from Season 1 about returning to the show — but in entirely different roles.

So what does this mean for Season 2? Will Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott, who starred as Vivien and Ben, return to haunt the new owners of Murder House? Nope! "Those characters and those stories are done," creator Ryan Murphy told reporters Thursday morning. "Every season of the show will be a different haunting. Every season will have a beginning, a middle and an end. What you saw in the finale was the end of the Harmon house. The second season of the show will be a brand new home or building to haunt."

Murphy says the show was always intended to be an anthology, with a new set of cast members and characters each season. But there will be some residual elements from Season 1. "Some of [the actors] will be coming back... so there will be familiar faces and also new faces on the show, but they will be playing completely different characters, creatures and monsters, etc."

definitely twisted..and I loved every minute....I can't wait to see how the second season will be. A new cast, new story...that's pretty cool. Can't remember off the top of my head if any other tv series did that.

Jessica Lange's charactor And The Maid I just loved her! Temptress/older woman.
I can't think of another series that did that either. The closest is Dexter but they keep The key cast members and just work through one storyline every season from Begining ,middle, end.

love, love, love Jessica Lang...she plays a creepy character so well. I also like the good/bad maid.

I want to see what happens to the baby that was born. Did it kill Lang's character? Wouldn't it be cool if maybe in season 3 or so, the story revolved around that baby, and how evil and twisted he becomes. That would be great. Maybe way down the road when the series ends (they all do) they can bring it full circle, that kid grown up and all the original cast.

I love Dexter too. I just started watching it over the summer, caught up on all 5 seasons then watched the most recent. I have Showtime but I wait till the end of the season, then watch the entire season at one time. I do that with a few other shows too. Only a few I watch every week..True Blood being one.

I watch way too much television. LOL

Yes! I think it would be cool to have the baby be the central charactor in a season or throughout the series considering the way and by who he came into being1 LOL!
We used to follow Dexter weekly but we couldnt afford the movie stations anymore so we cut back to basic cable. I too love to get the whole season and do a Marathon straight through to see what happens next!!! I do that with really good books too. LOL! OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE TRUE BLOOD!!!! We also have ALL the books!!!! LOL!

yeah maybe I watch to much T.V. too1 but it beats going out to bars and getting drunk......well If youre 52 like I am anyway.

They somehow managed to create a cast and story that worked, I hope they realize how difficult that is and to just toss it all away after one season? I dunno, color me skeptical.

If they pull it off, then they deserve all the praise they'll get. If it were easy, everybody would be doing it all the time. But they don't.

that it was meant to have a beginning, a middle, and an ending all within the season. If it were renewed (which it has been) they would like to develop a completely different idea.

In other interviews Murphy has stated that the show isn't about a house, or about ghosts, or even about families. It's called American Horror Story, which means it can engulf so many ideas and not just supernatural. He's also made comments about how interesting it could be to treat a small cast like a traveling theater troupe, having them play different roles each season.

If it works it will be absolutely brilliant. The problem with Murphy is that he has brilliant first seasons and less than spectacular seasons after.
