A good debut, IMO ... worth the time.
While I know this isn't supposed to be in the vein of "The Odd Couple," the producers seems to have put all the right elements in place for a similar premise. IMO any odd couple concept works when both characters, despite their personality quirks and differences, flounder without the support of the other. In this pairing, slob vs. neat freak is replaced by old school comedy legend vs. new school comedy up-and-comer. Neither face much prospect of a landing a show without the other, so they have to negotiate to find middle-ground while keeping show business egos in-check. It's a fresh twist and should provide for many funny moments.
I thought Crystal was perfect in the debut. If he and Gad can establish chemistry along the likes Lemmon/Matthau or Klugman/Randall I think they'll have a hit. I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

(29,655 posts)guess I'm waiting for the laughs. There were a few and will give it time for the characters to develope. So far on a 1 - 5?? I'll give it a 2.5 so far. Will rate again when it finishes up with first installments. 8 weeks or so???

It's sad that so many comedians do not realize that their special brand of comedy ages along with them
